Portrait of Awa Igara on a beach in the Sea of Japan on Saint John’s day during the beautiful summer of June. The delicious miracle has been going on for two years. Two years spent with Awa in Nishiwaki. Two years of desires and sorrows. Yesterday again, topless and straw sandals in hand, she amazed my insatiable and horny eye while sunbathing the crumb of her white body. My joy now is to make Awa my island at the other end of the world, to be this sea that caresses her on all sides. In this oil-based work, I sought to capture the duality of human nature, juxtaposing the innate vulnerability and untamed resilience that coexist within us. The realism of the technique highlights the raw truth that I wish to convey: despite the trials, there is always an ineffable force that supports us, like an echo of the divine at our side. This painting, with its deep textures and intense expression, will bring an energy of mystery and inspiration to any living space.
